There’s a basic formula that makes for an easy transition from doing a project to managing a project – reflection. Experience buys us knowledge when learning the underlying methodology and rhythm of a project. Your attention to those details early in your career will help you spot trends and understand contractual expectations. Even before you’re officially a Project Manager or starting your own firm, learning a few things will put you ahead of the game.

Architectural rendering and visualization is becoming easier than ever as more and more tools are developed with efficiency and ease of use in mind. As the technology evolves, the success of an image still relies on the thought-process and methodology behind composition, color, and ambiance. This workshop will guide you through the principles of composing a captivating rendering with an emphasis on streamlined and efficient post-production in Photoshop.

Successful architects must be able to draw freely and without fear, drawing to see, to understand, to imagine, to design and to communicate. You should be able to draw as freely as you talk. In this workshop, you will learn how to overcome the fear of drawing and use sketching as a means of exploration and discovery.

Design professionals are well positioned to remove the “risk” from “at-risk” communities without jeopardizing their long-term viability. This workshop will engage participants in the design of an integrated, actionable community engagement process for resilient development through a series of group interactive exercises.

Admit it: It’s hard to be confident standing up in front of a room full of strangers, right? It can be even harder if they are older and more experienced. Most every speaker has felt (and sometimes still feels) the same way.

In fact, if you don’t get nervous before a presentation, you are possibly stale and over-rehearsed. Public speaking isn’t for everyone, but with the right delivery, you can present something very dry and be entertaining with an engaged audience. Conversely, a person can take an exciting subject and totally lose the room to sheer boredom. Attend this program and let’s talk about how to get yourself out there, set yourself apart and recognize that you have a lot to share.

Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to:

What do you do? What is your firm like? What is a PM role at your practice? All this and more in a discussion with peers about responsibilities, leadership, and experiences.

Join us to learn about the virtual reality (VR) market and its benefits to the A&D industry. Hear about case studies from major A&D firms and architecture schools, and how you can begin incorporating VR into your workflow to present your ideas better and with absolute clarity for your clients. Spend time viewing projects in full VR in the hands-on demo, and view a project being created and marked-up while you play the role of “client”.

A highly interactive workshop helping you succeed in passing the Architect Registration Exam.

The focus of these study sessions will be working on practice questions. As a group, we’ll discuss why each answer is correct, and we’ll ultimately teach the content to each other through these conversations. Knowing the wrong answers on practice questions (and why they’re wrong) is just as helpful as knowing the right answers.

But most importantly, this form of group studying has ALWAYS proven to be MOST effective: having a normal, everyday conversation about the content you’re studying with other people who are studying the same thing.

In these study sessions, we’ll also discuss ARE testing strategies and big concepts.

How do we create better social media profiles around the profession of Architecture? How do we communicate virtually with the tools that we have? How do you create a following and recognition? Join us for a discussion with successful bloggers, podcasters, and vloggers to learn and discuss the social media side to Architecture.

Whether you want to make more earnings, work at your dream job, or start your own firm in the future, you can invent opportunities for yourself through connections.

As a Young Architect in today’s world, we have the ability to network in person and through technology. You’ll learn how to think like an entrepreneur and gain proven strategies, and examples of successful Entrepreneur Architects.

Please note: This lecture is about solving problems and thinking like an entrepreneur. It is NOT a professional practice class or about the details of setting up an architectural design practice

Highly competent architects emerge every day who will ultimately become the future of this profession. They have the talent, training, ambition, and heart that would make them a great addition to the profession and community at large. But there is one problem that is often unaddressed– Sometimes the most competent professionals lack the confidence- and clear path- necessary to succeed, especially in today’s competitive and evolving marketplace.

The good news is that this program will showcase to young architects what it takes to translate their education, skills, and ambition into lasting success and career satisfaction.

Whether you want to make more earnings, work at your dream job, or start your own firm in the future, you can invent opportunities for yourself through connections.
